Systems Manager, Logistics-QA

Location: Lake Success, NY 11042 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project, Employee Expected Duration: 2+ to 5 Years Pay Rate: 34.00 - 35.00 USD /hour   - Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or Transportation Management System (TMS) applications configuration and setup   - Perform intensive software testing, to ensure that the modifications achieve the results specified in the functional/detailed requirements. Analyze the results   and report any inconsistency.   - Develop test plans that effectively uncover software defects - Meet the scheduled completion dates and deliver quality products on time.   - Develop and enhance the testing methodology, standards and test checklists.   - Participate in the review of the analysis/detailed design documents   - Assist with the training Department:  New Systems Skills: - MS Office Suite,MS Project,MS Visio,MS Word,MS Excel,Mercury Test Director,SQL,- Expertise of both WMS and TMS applications - Strong understanding of QA processes. - Technical aptitude and understanding of relational database structures. - Excellent communication skills Comments: - Support the implementation of new WMS/TMS application throughout the distribution network - Minimum of 3 years experience in software configuration and testing of WMS and/or TMS applications - Accurate, detail-oriented, capable of prioritizing work and multitasking skills - Team player, and capable to work well under pressure.   (Ability to work effectively under pressure)  Specific Responsibilities - WMS and/or TMS applications configuration and setup - Perform intensive software testing, to ensure that the modifications achieve the results specified in the functional/detailed requirements. Analyze the results and report any inconsistency. - Develop test plans that effectively uncover software defects - Meet the scheduled completion dates and deliver quality products on time. - Develop and enhance the testing methodology, standards and test checklists. - Participate in the review of the analysis/detailed design documents - Assist with the training  Requirements: - Expertise of both WMS and TMS applications - Minimum of 3 years experience in software configuration and testing of WMS and/or TMS applications - Strong understanding of QA processes. - Accurate, detail-oriented, capable of prioritizing work and multitasking skills - Technical aptitude and understanding of relational database structures. - Knowledge of programming languages (Oracle) would be an asset. - Excellent communication skills - Team player,and capable to work well under pressure - Extensive travel is required  We are in our final stage of vendor selection, which will either be Catalyst International or TECSYS. Knowledge of either of these 2 vendor's would be a plus, but primary working knowledge of any WMS (Warehouse Management System) and/or TMS (Transportation Management System) application is mandatory.  The potential candidate will be working closely with the project team to setup and configure the application, assist in testing, and post implementation support. Our proposed schedule is for our first site in Dallas (~May), then Atlanta (~ August), then Carson, Ca.
