Sr. Manager of Network Services Infrastructure

In this role you will manage the design, implementation and operation of infrastructure systems including servers, SAN, and networks (voice and data).  The majority of this position involves managing 10-20 projects from planning to implementation, 3-4 of those being high priority projects.  Roughly 10-20% of job is managing telecommunications (Avaya products, VOIP), which mostly involves product upgrades, but also includes managing vendors and analyzing contracts.

Responsibilities:Be responsible for system, network and telecommunications of the corporation. Develops short-term and long-term goals, objectives and plans and communicate those plans effectively. Ensures that appropriate technology is implemented, with respect to functions, capacity, performance and price to maximum the value of the information resource. Ensures necessary standards and procedures for proper operation of all areas of network and communications services are in place, adhered to and are maintained. Develops measurement, monitoring and reporting methods for voice and data equipment functions and services to ensure effective performance levels. Ensure an adequate and qualified, trained staff to meet the needs and business requirements of the corporation. Hires, trains, develops and motivates department staff, encouraging optimum productivity.  Assists, advises and resolves conflict through communication of policy and expectations.  Encourages continual employee personal development through continued training and an ongoing appraisal process.  Encourages employee communication. Acts as a liaison, analyzes, reports and advises the Director of Infrastructure Services on department plans and projects, as well as ongoing developments within the network services industry.  Keeps department staff informed on matters of policies and procedures. Serves as a technical resource for the IS Department. Keep abreast of new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional organizations, publications and industry shows. Other duties and projects as assigned (i.e. assist with budget management of team).

Qualifications:B.S. Degree in computer related field or equivalent experience 8 – 10 years technology experience; looking for a network (voice) and server (data) background and experience rolling out new products. 5+ years management experience; experience managing supervisors or managers ideal 3+ years project management experience Certifications/license:  Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) desirable Strong understanding of Microsoft networks (active directory, MS exchange), networking, and telecommunications Good communication skills (written and oral) Strong organization and planning skills Good vendor management skills Strong interpersonal skills
