Technical Business Analyst

Position Summary
Under general supervision of the Technology Solutions Team Lead, this role will support Technology Solutions (Software Development and Infrastructure) through the entire Software Development and Project Management lifecycles from concept through completion on a wide variety of technology engagements. This role will supply consistent, effective and efficient IT Business Analysis and Project Management process utilization, documentation, support and controls. This role will work to ensure that the solutions implemented satisfy the technology requirements and deliver the highest value with quality. Primary responsibilities will be targeted toward Business Analysis with secondary responsibility for Project Management on small to medium-sized projects.
Position ResponsibilitiesElicits, documents, and manages technical requirements, technology related business processes, and general business intent on small to medium sized projectsResponsible for overall project management of small projects Initiates, develops, and manages all projects to the Redemtech Project Management functions (integration, scope, time, budget, quality, resources, risks, and communications)Responds to operational issues and information requests within defined areas of responsibility as requiredAssists in the capture, documentation, refinement, and evolution of the Redemtech Project Management supported standards, policies, procedures, and practicesSupports the implementation and maintenance of Redemtech strategic goals and objectivesSuccessfully delivers all assigned projects over the entire Redemtech project lifecycle (initiate, assess, plan, execute/control, close)Gains familiarity with system scope, project objectives, and roles and responsibilities of each memberInterfaces and communicates with all areas affected by the projectTrains and provides general guidance as a consultant/mentor for less experienced Business AnalystsMaintains a high quality of services, deliverables, and contentProvides business support as necessary on current Redemtech software Participates in technical design sessions and testing activities to ensure business requirements are satisfiedEffectively estimates, prioritizes, and reports on all BA activities and schedulesAssists the Training department in preparing training documentation as necessaryWorks to develop TST (Technology Solutions Team) concepts with tools, resources and methodologies which provide technology solutions in support of PMO business requirements, pre-sales activities and new technologies implementationsOther duties as assigned
Experience and EducationBachelor’s Degree (preferably in computer science or business related field). Three to five years experience in a Technical Business Analyst role

Essential Skills, Knowledge, AbilitiesBasic level experience with MS ProjectExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsIntermediate knowledge of MS Access, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and WordIntermediate knowledge of project management methodologies, theories, and team dynamicsIntermediate understanding of business analysis techniquesBasic level understanding of project management methodologies, theories, and team dynamicsStrong analytical, problem solving, planning, quality, time management, and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to develop and implement project plans within a highly matrixed environmentDemonstrated ability to create, obtain approval for, and manage project documentation as appropriate for a given project engagement (i.e. Statements of Work, Business Requirements, Techincal Requirements, Use Cases, Meeting Minutes, Lessons Learned, etc.)Basic knowledge of the Project Management Lifecycle (roles, skill sets, deliverables, entry and exit criteria)Intermediate knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (roles, skill sets, deliverables, entry and exit criteria)Demonstrated ability to track project requirements through the SDLC (design, development, testing, and implementation)Experience balancing deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously
Nonessential Skills, Knowledge, AbilitiesKnowledge of Internet technologies and multi-tiered application architecture with prototyping / developing web based concepts a plus.Familiarity with Microsoft products including IIS, ASP, ASP.NET and SQL Server a big plus.Experience working on projects that follow PMI Project Management methodologiesAbility to write and implement processes in a technical environmentExperience testing requirements as part of functional and user acceptance testing
