Technical Project Manager
Q&A Recruiting has been retained by a services company located in Los Colinas to help them recruit a Technical Project Manager. This will be a long term contract (expected year) with the option of conversion at the end. Job DescriptionOverview10+ years of hands-on experience in providing successful delivery of highly complex projects related to new customer implementation, customer solution upgrades, product extension/expansion and projects involving infrastructure/hosting facilities. He/She would be required to work closely with business cross functional areas, external customers, internalresources (On-Site and Off-Shore), and vendors in defining project priorities, scope, approach, resource requirements and timing of deliverables. Ensures commitment of appropriately-skilled technical resources required for delivery ofall elements of the project, as well as necessary subject matter experts from the affected business areas.Develops and manages execution of project communication plans which ensure that information related toprogress and issues is being communicated with the project teams, stakeholders, steering committee, andsponsors.Manages risk by routinely identifying, assessing, and developing mitigation plans for events that could impact thesuccess of the project.Manages the technology vendor relationships as they relate to projects. Monitors progress of vendor deliverablesas well as the vendor’s quality assurance activities.Demonstrated understanding of the project life cycle, including budget development and management, projectimplementation, development of work plans, evaluation, and communication planning.Enforces the use of defined development methodologies as defined by Architecture & Development Teams. Technical SkillsProject scheduling and management using Microsoft Project.Experience in working with Enterprise Project Management and Collaboration tools. (E.g. SharePoint, MS ProjectServer, etc.)Expertise in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)Develop job aids, help text and other documentation required to meet the client’s business requirements;coordinate and facilitate training as neededExperience in managing SDLC for web-based application built using SQL, ASP, HTML, DHTML, SQL, VBScript,JavaScript, and other web-related technologies.eLearning domain knowledge in the areas of Learning Management System (LMS) (including all associatedapplications and modes) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS) (including content development andadministrative tools)Additional product knowledge and areas of specialization, such as: Security, Reporting, E-Commerce, and DataEntitlementAn advanced degree, knowledge of the e-learning industry and PMP certification are highly desirable.
