Oversees department-wide technology projects. Works with departments to understand user requirements. Proposes technical solutions. Gathers information and provides estimates for project completion. Contacts and manages relations with outside contractors for project completion. Coordinates project from proposal stage through installation.QualificationsFive years of experience in implementing technical requirements to support business applications OR a bachelor's degree and three years of experience in implementing technical requirements to support business applications.The Department of Neurology Technical Manager position works as a 4-person team to support the desktop and system development needs of the faculty, residents, and staff. With over 80 clinicians and scientists, the department has a diverse set of technology platforms and needs. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong set of technical, communication, and project management skills. S/he will need to be responsive to the Department needs and be willing to provide direct help whenever necessary to help resolve issues. In addition, the candidate will work with leadership to prioritize, strategize, and manage the IT program.The position responsibilities include:- Coordinate and prioritize projects and issues across the Department of Neurology- Works with faculty to understand and document needs and translate them into feasible and cost-effective technical solutions- Works with leadership to establish short-term and long-term IT strategy- Acts as liaison with central IT departments, including healthcare, school of medicine, and research and academic health sciences- Provides a clear and transparent communication program about technology changes, projects, and issues- Provides hands-on experience assisting with desktop and system development support
