Senior technical contact providing advanced technical assistance via telephone, e-mail, and occasional on-site visits to ACES Enterprise customers deploying solutions based on Apple products. Provides solutions to technical problems for system administrators deploying, managing, and integrating server platforms, or networks based on MacOS X and Mac OS X Server Products. Assists in the creation and maintenance of technical resource documents and other operational duties within the department. Experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server and Active Directory configuration and setup required. MCSE/MCSA a plus. Some travel required. Experience with Fibre Channel technologies (both Apple and 3rd Party) configuration, setup, and diagnosis desired. Experience with Storage Area Networks configuration and setup desired. Acts as technical mentor for staff.Seeking someone who is familiar with:Department Server Administration Administer production databases Some SQL usage to update the database schema, select information from the database Backup and Restore procedures and operations, using UNIX tools and Retrospect. Some NetInfo/LDAP configuration experience needed NFS integration is helpful Experience with Managed Client and ARD a plus Apache administration experience Shell and Perl script experience to automate tasks Customer Support Enterprise level customer support Ability to gather information and solve complex problems Knowledge of integrating multiple platforms NIS/NetInfo/LDAP/AD and OS X Directory Services Advanced UNIX command line experience Willingness to work with team members asking and answering questions Shell and Perl scripting to solve complex customer issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience. Excellent customer interface skills.Developer Duties: Java API experience Axis (SOAP) API Cocoa APINormally requires a bachelors degree and 3-4 years of experience or equivalent. Windows 2000/2003 Server and Active Directory configuration and setup or equivalent experience is required. MCSE/MCSA a plus. Mac OS X or related UNIX OS sysadmin experience desired.
