Technical Writer

Technical Writer Pierre, SD 57501 The Technical Writer will organize new and existing documentation and deliverables in internal and external electronic project libraries, and work with the entire project organization to improve the quality and content of documentation and deliverables.  The Technical Writer will investigate existing and new technology to improve the automation and maintenance of documentation and deliverables.  Duties/Responsibilities:· Establishes all documentation deliverable templates· Coordinates document inputs from the subsystem teams· Conducts the final technical writing on all document deliverables· Corrects document errors found during QA evaluations and peer reviews  Skills RequiredMANDATORY: · Expert ability to comprehend and visualize large, complicated systems· Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office writing/documenting and diagramming tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio) · Proven ability to read and comprehend various sources of written material and to transpose this material with standardized consistency and formats· A working understanding of Document Management Systems  Secondary Skills: · A working understanding of HTML and XML is a plus· Formal training in computer science is a plus· Formal training in technical writing/library science is a plus· Health and Human Services Experience (either in state government or vendor community)· Medicaid/MMIS knowledge and/or experience· MITA knowledge and/or experience
