Telecom Analyst
Telecommunications Analyst POSITION: Telecommunications Analyst LOCATION: San Francisco POSITION SUMMARY The Telecommunications Analyst will assist in providing Telecommunication design and optimization recommendations to our wired and wireless infrastructure and he/she will also be responsible for providing 2nd level production support. In addition, he/she must partner with the application development, server / desktop, network, security, help desk, infrastructure teams and he/she must also work closely with the business to understand their business requirements and timelines. RESPONSIBILITIES Order communication lines consisting of T1, PRI, DSL, Centrex and 1MB’s Schedule and remotely work with on-site vendors to manage equipment replacement or break fix scenarios at Store, Corporate, Distribution Center and Regional Office locations. Manage vendors and service providers to ensure service level agreements are maintained. Provide on-going 2nd level Telecommunications support, problem determination, isolation, and resolution. Maintain systems documentation. Manage wireless PDA procurement, configuration and support Must be comfortable with Change Control Process. Support Adds, Moves and Changes through IMAC process Log and manage trouble calls with internal IT support teams and vendors. Interact with other support groups. Provide input to the IT strategic plan. Manage costs to ensure projects and maintenance are within budget. Attend store operations support meetings. Provide weekly status report to management. Assist in implementing new releases of hardware and software. Assist in tracking and validating invoices. REQUIREMENTS · BS in technology related field or equivalent experience· 4+ years experience in Telecommunication support with understanding of VoIP· Working knowledge of Avaya Servers and Gateways (S8500, G650, MAS, MSS and IVR)· Knowledge of Avaya Partner and Merlin Legend phone systems· Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager and Unity· Previous experience in vendor management.· Available for travel to store or office locations for equipment installation is required. (Estimated up to 10% travel.)· Self-starter, able to work independently and interactively with Store and Corporate Office staff members.· Function as a resourceful and proactive team member (finds/suggests ways to make the job/task more efficient, assist with the completion of workflow). · Professional presentation and phone manner. · Must be consistently punctual, dependable and reliable. · Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.· Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation and on call rotational support (24x7) Company: Modis, Inc.
