Traveling Storage Consultant Title: Storage ConsultantDuration: 12 Months with possible extensionsLocation: NationwideTravel requirements: 75-85% travel within the US.  All Travel is 100% reimbursable!!***Must be either a US citizen or Green Card holder****A desirable candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and documenting complex SAN technology solutions working with cross-functional teams and various levels of management in large enterprise environments. Experience Project Managing or acting as a Technical Lead for complex, large scale technology implementations. The candidate must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Anyone with the following skills goes to the top of the list: StorageWorks External Storage XP or Hitachi XP Storage expertise XP 512, XP 1024 or XP 12000 Data Protector expertiseSpecific skills should include: ·Complex SAN Design, Assessment, and Implementation experience using products from various vendors in the following areas:·SAN Infrastructure (Client, Client EVA, EMC, Brocade, McData, Cisco, etc)·SAN-based Tape Backup Solutions (Data Protector, Legato, Veritas, Tape Libraries, Storage Routers).·Disaster Recovery Solutions using inter-site data replication. (Client Continuous Access, EMC SRDF, Compaq DRM)·Data Migration.·SAN Management / Monitoring Software Packages (OVSAM, EMC ESN Manager, Client OpenView)·Network-attached storage (NAS)·Ability to assist with scoping Services engagements including SOW generation and responding to Proposals (RFPs).·Provide pre-sales technical support for complex SAN solutions.·Mastery of system administration in multiple Operating Systems. This should include at least one UNIX OS. ·Ability to act as a technical lead assisting team members with escalation issues that arise during implementations. This includes assisting internal employee team members and extended external partner team members.·Ability to define and maintain technical delivery standards for the implementation teams. This includes monitoring accuracy of group’s implementations and conducting group meetings to disseminate information to internal employee team members and extended external partner team members. Must have basic TCP/IP and SNMP experience. Must have a willingness to travel (100%) - consultants will be at different client sites each week·All travel is fully reimbursed Skills that would be additional assets ·Application expertise – Exchange, Lotus Notes, Oracle, SQL, OVSAM. ·Service guard or other type of clustering experience. ·Data Archiving, Email Archiving, and/or Data Warehousing experience. ·iSCSI and/or FC-IP experience.
