       Long term IT position in UNIX group. The group is primarily responsible for managing Genesys UNIX Production infrastructure worldwide on a 24x7 basis.  Working close with Network and Windows groups. We manage our own DNS, NIS, Email, FTP, NFS, CIFS and SAN services based on SUN hardware. We are constantly improving our  configuration management tools. Receive general instructions for assignments from manager and work with independence and discretion regarding how to carry out tasks.

 

Responsibilities:

In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Hardware inventory, installation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance (Daly City and Walnut Creek offices) Solaris operating environment installation and administration Support and improvement of Serial Access service Hardware and services Logging, Monitoring and Reporting systems Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of NIS, DNS, NFS, Samba, FTP services Participate in 24x7 support of critical services Current projects on IT side includes new infrastructure/virtualization implementation, new log server setup, new monitoring system deployment, high availability loadbalancers setup, NIS consolidation, file servers/storage upgrade

Required:UNIX/Solaris  production environment support and maintenance Clear understanding basic network principles and protocols On-hands experience and knowledge of current Sun servers/storage hardware/technologies: - T2000 - V24x/44x/88x - x4200/x4500 - ALOM/ILOM - ST 3510/6120/6130 5+ years technical experience and good knowledge of  Solaris 10 system and network administration: - Jumpstart - SMF - Zones (Solaris containers) - ZFS - SVM - UFS/fssnap - Automounter Strong Burne Shell scripting Experience with following services/technologies/tools: - DNS, NIS, NFS, Samba, FTP - RAID - rsync, sudo, SSH Organizational skills: documentation, diagrams, procedures:  office tools (Word, Excel, Visio) Degree in Computer Since, Engineering or IT Ability to work both independently and in a team Good verbal and written communication skills (English)



Preferred:Hardware experience - Cyclades TS-series console servers - Cicso Local directors  - APC power distribution equipment -Software/Technologies/Tools: - Perl programming - Solaris Logical Domains - Sun Update Manager - Sun Storage management software (Storage Automated Diagnostic Environment) - Conserver - Nagios, Cricket, BigBrother, Apache - Syslogng, logcheck - ProFTPd, RADIUS - iSCSI - Oracle RAC operating environment setup and support - ClearCase operating environment support - Clusters implementation - Solaris training/certification
