UNIX Admin/Architect
5+ years experience as a Systems Architect. Strong knowledge of the SDLC. Expertise in creating and managing file systems and/or logical drives. Process and procedures for data migration between file systems and/or servers. Experience in providing OS (Solaris, AIX) and database (Oracle) support. Extensive knowledge of various RAID technologies and an understanding of their attributes. Shell scripting abilities (Korn and Bourne required; other shell scripting helpful).Strong understanding of the Xwindows client-server model, experience with Xwindows desktop configurations. Working knowledge of RC scripts in UNIX. Experience with Veritas Volume Manager. Experience with clustering with either Sun Cluster Server and/or Veritas Cluster Server. Knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies. Knowledge of basic data warehousing technologies.Responsible for the satisfactory daily operations of Operating Systems, Database Systems, and Technical Environments, as well as their technical performance and architecture. The Systems Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of systems and the resolution of technical issues associated with Bank Information Systems. This position will primarily work with IT and business work groups in addressing system architecture requirements, design and issues for new and existing projects. Excellent communication skills, an extensive knowledge of systems design and configuration primarily focusing on UNIX, Oracle, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to understand process flow involving multiple environments from the infrastructure and OS perspective are required. Activities are conducted in compliance with: • Provisions of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Change Management System • Audit and regulatory requirements Architect Responsibilities: Researches technologies, proposes alternatives, identifies technological opportunities, and leads/participates in projects that investigate, prove, model, document, and certify technologies.
