UNIX INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ANALYST

Unix/Linux Performance/Capacity Engineer Primary responsibilities SME for Unix and Linux environment. Set thresholds for performance problem detection. Monitoring and configuring of SRM values. Work with line teams on 2nd and 3rd level performance problem diagnosis. Daily monitoring of production systems performance. Analysis of workload and system performance trends. Work with line teams and data manager on insuring completeness of collected data and adding additional data points as necessary. Work with Systems Integration team on validating new and upgraded system designs. Need to review system infrastructure designs from both a technical and cost benefit perspective. Needs to generate regular capacity planning reports from available data utilizing SAS programming, Excel and MS/SQL . Support the ORCA performance data collection toolset. Experience with BMC Patrol would be a plus. Work Experience Essential 5 or more years experience managing UNIX servers and infrastructure in a large scale 250+ server environment, Excellent written oral communication skills. Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge Advanced Solaris 2.8 & 10 administration, Advanced Linux administration with experience in troubleshooting system performance problems. Orca, Storage Area Networks, Dtrace, strace, truss, TCP, SAS, Excel, MS/SQL Preferred: Advanced degree (BS or equivalent) in computer Science, engineering or related discipline.
