Unix / AIX System Administrator

Apex Systems, Inc. (www.apexsystemsinc.com) currently has an opportunity available with a large client in Sterling Forest, NY for a long term opportunity providing system administration in a mixed Solaris / AIX / Windows environment.  All candidates must submit to criminal background screening prior to an offer of employment.  Successful candidates will posses the following skills:

·  Build and maintained IBM power4 / power5 system running AIX UNIX v4 / v5.

 

·  Configuration of multiple logical subsystems utilizing IBM HMC, including LPAR configuration, NIM and manage the LPAR.

 

·  Responsible for all H/W & related failures that occur on the IBM servers.

 

·  Serve as a technical Specialist to assist customers with Hardware and software related issues.

 

·  Ensuring systems data recovery is always maintained.

 

·  Aix Cloning systems using mksysb / restore via Sysback

 

·  Experienced in SAN Administration / SAN zoning. Tape, disk.

 

·  Knowledge of IBM SSA storage setup / configuration

 

·  Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN), IBM Storage Subsystems (ESS, DS4000 series, FAStT

 IBM RS/6000 Scalable POWERparallel (SP) system Working Knowledge OF building SP Hardware Building & Configuring CWS (Control workstation) Knowledge of AIX, PSSP software, CSM, Kerberos, NIM (Network Installation Management) Knowledge of the Colony Switch is a plus.
