Through our collaborative and flexible approach, we deliver practical, sustainable, measurable results that help our clients make the right strategic decisions and implement the right solutions.The BearingPoint Public Services is currently searching for a Unix Administrator.Location: Sacramento, CARelocation: noPerformance Profile: The Unix Administrator will perform the following: * Systems Administration for the IBM UNIX (AIX 5L) operating system and system management software* Review, install, configure, test and implement new releases of AIX 5L V.5.3 operating system software* Analyze IBM pSeries Power5 and /or Power6 hardware and AIX 5L V.5.3 operating system software problems* Configuring and managing local, SAN (EMC Clarion) and NAS disk resources on AIX 5L systems* General UNIX systems troubleshooting and problem resolution* Assist operations personnel with AIX 5L system trouble-shooting and recovery;* Develop and document operating and maintenance procedures for the IBM AIX 5L V.5.3 UNIX environment. (System Diagrams, Configuration docs, etc)Position-specific Requirements: * 4+ years experience as a systems administrator installing, configuring, and updating the AIX operating system;* 2+ years experience in the last 5 years as a senior AIX systems administrator managing servers in an environment consisting of 20 or more servers;* 2+ years experience with Logical Partitioning and Virtualization on IBM pSeries Power5 systems;* 2+ years experience in configuring local and SAN storage on AIX 5L systems using Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and Object Data Manager (ODM);* 1+ years experience in performance tuning on AIX 5L using the VMO, IOO, NO, NFSO, and related AIX performance tuning commands.* 2+ years familiarity with Oracle, Websphere, Legatto running on AIX* Four-year degree * US CitizenLogistics: *Travel requirement: 75% travel required throughout the Continental United StatesBearingPoint is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability or any other basis covered by law.
