Belvoir, VA. Immediate opening for a Unix System Administrator. **Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance (Must be able to get a IT I, which requires a Single Scope Background Check (SSBI))** Essential Job Functions Support a large DoD installation located at Fort Belvoir, VA. Qualified candidates should have at least five+ years of IT experience and strong UNIX skills, including building, deploying and administering Sun servers in a production or ISP environment. The primary responsibility for this position will be to: Administer a Unix and web infrastructure running Solaris and Linux. Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Sun Servers running on multiple server types. Manage the servers from the command line. Create and manage user accounts. Track Solaris security updates and apply them in a production environment with minimal server downtime. Implement DoD security requirements on the servers. Additional responsibilities for this position will be to: Support our general infrastructure, including: a load balancer, backup and restore, user management,, netapps, LINUX, Solaris, DNS, SMTP, Security, and DISTCAP. Assist with emerging technologies, including virtual server environments, LAN storage, SOA, and Web Services,. Candidates should have: (1) a strong UNIX background administering servers and/or applications; (2) the ability to work within a security infrastructure, and firewalls, including an understanding of DoD security policies; and (3) be comfortable working in a command line UNIX environment. Must be a team player, able to work on site with daily direct customer interaction and be able to adapt to shifting priorities. Candidate will be an integrated member of a team consisting of Government and Contractor staff. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree plus one year ofprofessional experience working with Sun Solaris, and UNIX or five years general IT experience equivalent combination of education and experience Five or more years of technical experiences in a client-server environment to include experience working with company products and services, company and client documentation and storage procedures, andhighly complex system implementations and organizational processes.Other Qualifications * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel* Strong communication skills* Good ability to lead and work as part of a team* Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills Remote Work Location Authorized:No Relocation Assistance:Not AvailableClearance Level:Top Secret Create Success
