User Interface Developer

Modis, a leader in the IT Staffing industry, is seeking a User Interface Developer on behalf of our client in South Charlotte, NC.Responsibilities: • The UI Developer is responsible for interfacing effectively with the whole project team as well as the customer to intimately understand customer requirements and how they can be met with the software, as well as implementing these requirements with high quality. • Ability to communicate usability and visual design principles to all levels of an organization. • Monitor and maintain the overall usability of both windows and web based applications • Design and implement usable, simple and friendly interfaces to advanced functionality • Convert requirements into clearly understandable specifications for all users • Refactor existing user interface for improved usability • Also serve as a mentor to other engineers and UI developers within the company to enforce the UI standards. • The candidate should have experience in the full lifecycle of large (preferably enterprise) application development, from requirements analysis and design testing. Requirements: • Exposure to the full product/project development lifecycle • Experience with gathering and analysis, design, estimation, development, and user-acceptance testing • Team leadership experience with a UI team • Experience in graphic design for the web (Photoshop, Fireworks, etc) • XHTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript development skills and cross browser compatibility issues. • Understanding of accessibility and web standards such as 508, W3C • Expert knowledge of user interface design and proven user interaction design skills. • Experience with Windows 2000/XP • C #, C++, and Java skills • Excellent Communication Skills • Ability to thrive in a non-structured environment, and proactively perform and exceed job responsibilities • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and re-prioritize workload • Takes Project Ownership – ability to take projects from start to finish with abbreviated guidance • Thoroughly enjoys his or her trade and is always looking to better one's user experience Desired Skills: • Experience with POS systems and peripherals • Experience building “simple” UIs, targeted to a non-technical end user base. • Human Factors experience Please email resumes to charlotte@modisit.com Job Reference Code: 190907 Company: Modis, Inc.
