VBA / Excel Developer

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating applications for internal areas.  Work with team to define/identify the scope of the projects and develop the solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

General Responsibilities: 

 

· Learn/Understand current business processes and determine user requirements

· Develop functional and technical design specifications

· Assist with conversion and system implementation plans

· Develop system and application documentation

· Train users in conversion and implementation of applications/systems

 

Immediate Responsibilities:

 

Applicant’s primary responsibilities would be to maintain company’s complex Investor Allocation Model [Model].  The Model has a significant number of interlinked Excel workbooks with complex calculations which are recursive in nature.  Applicant must be able to dissect and understand complex Excel functions, implement changes as directed in functional requirements, fully test and create documentation for each change.

3.  Candidate must posses the ability to follow standards and instructions while offering improvements/enhancements.

 

Technical Skills:

 

1.  Candidate must have advanced Excel skills (ie. complex formulas) and be able to debug/code difficult Excel macros. 

2.  Candidate must have the ability to programmatically manipulate worksheet and cell properties using VB and VBA

3.  Candidate must possess problem solving skills and be proactive in researching concepts they are unfamiliar with. 

4.  Experience with SQL Server 2000 (or higher) is strongly desired

5.  Basic knowledge of investment financial instruments a plus. 


DEGREES / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE / EXPERIENCE:

 

1.  A Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited college or university) in Computer Science or related discipline.

 

OR

 

1.  An Associate’s Degree (from an accredited college or university) in Computer Science or related discipline.

2.  Two years of work experience developing Excel, VB, VBA
