TITLE: Compliance Analyst/ VBA Specialist

 

DEPARTMENT: Portfolio Compliance, Legal/Compliance

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Responsibilities include developing enhancements to the compliance reporting process via excel based query tools in support of the various compliance related activities of the Portfolio Compliance Group, writing and maintaining VBA macros to automate manual processes, auditing accounts, researching compliance issues as well as participating in various ad hoc projects.  Position requires frequent interaction with Account and Portfolio Management as well as the Legal Department on regulatory and guideline issues.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Qualified candidate must possess a four-year college degree in computer science, accounting, business, finance or economics and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.  Candidate must possess strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail.  Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to work in a team environment is essential.  Must be capable of managing multiple tasks with tight time deadlines and possess strong problem solving ability.  Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and Visual Basic for Applications is a must.  Proven work experience in writing VBA macros to automate manual tasks in order to deliver results more effectively and efficiently.  Experience using BUM, SMARTS, Bloomberg and BusinessObjects a plus. 

 

MS Excel VBA Experience

1. Writing Do While, For Next, and Do Until Loops to manipulate data

2. Coding If/Then statements and excel functions

3. Automating pivot tables and dynamic data ranges

4. Strong ability to debug existing VBA Excel code and fix it

5. Query and database knowledge
