Video Systems Architect

Calence is actively looking to fill a Video Systems Architect position in our Unified Communications consulting practice. A candidate for this position would possess a comprehensive knowledge of both ISDN and IP-based video architectures. Hands-on experience with architecting, designing, configuring and integrating large video conferencing systems is a must. Relative expertise with Cisco, Tandberg and/or Polycom systems required. This person’s experience should be proven both with applicable field work as well as industry recognizable certifications from one or more of the vendors mentioned above. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

·         Support architecture, technical design, implementation and troubleshooting  of video systems.

 

·         Responsible for leading project teams, providing technical oversight, working within a life-cycle services approach to project delivery and required to provide a professional level of customer deliverables. 

 

·         Identify and articulate the value proposition of video over IP systems, and based on business requirements.

 

·         Present appropriate architecture options that meet the customer’s needs.

 

·         Annual travel  50%+  is possible based on the location of the individual and project requirements.

 

·         Candidates can be located anywhere in the country.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

·         Experience with H.320 and H.323 based video conferencing systems.

·         Hands-on experience with one or more of the following video manufacturer’s platforms: Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom.

·         Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and integration between legacy and IP-based systems.

·         Working knowledge of Quality of Service schemes and how to optimize video application QoS configurations.

·         Systems architecture experience. Having the ability to identify, architect and configure the following components:  video endpoints, gateways, gatekeepers, codecs, scheduling and administrative tools, management platforms, etc.

·         Integration with Cisco IP network systems including Cisco Unified Video Conferencing, Cisco Unified Communications Manager experience.

·         Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Certification (CMIM, CMUS, CMDS).

·         Polycom and Tandberg certifications.

·         Video Telephony.

·         IP Telephony or Unified Communications experience.

 

  

Education

A bachelor’s degree is required accompanied with designated certifications; CCNA or above – CCVP preferred.
