We need a good Cisco Network Administrator/Engineer

Our client has an immediate opportunity for a Cisco Network Administrator/Engineer to join their server team in Houston TX.

The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with little direction.  The primary role of the candidate will be to support Cisco and other network devices but as a member of the server team, must also support server related issues.

Required Skills:

 

· Candidate must have extensive hands-own knowledge of designing, implementing, monitoring, and fixing Cisco routers, firewalls, and switches.

· Candidate MUST have intimate knowledge of command line IOS.  SDM/PDM experience will not be considered.

· Candidate will be expected to support 1800, 2800, and 3800 series routers.

· Candidate will be expected to support 1900, 2900, and 3500 series Catalyst switches.

· Candidate will be expected to support PIX firewalls and Cisco Aironet devices.

· Candidate will also be expected to support other network equipment such as Dell PowerConnect, HP Procurve, SonicWall, etc.

· Candidate is expected to analyze 100+ small and medium size client environments and fix any and all network issues in accordance with Best Practices.

· Must be able to resolve high level technical issues related to networks including site to site VPNs, VLANs, high availability, routing protocol issues (EIGRP, RIP2, OSPF), security hardening, etc.

· Candidate must have knowledge of Windows Server 2003 (Standard and Enterprise) and should be able to support AD, DNS, DHCP, etc. issues.

· Candidate must have a willingness to learn new technologies such as Windows Server 2008.

 

Qualifications:

-3 years of Cisco networking experience

-2 years of Windows Server experience

-High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

-Bachelor's degree in related field (Preferred)

-CCNP, CCDP, MCSE 2003 and other advanced certifications preferred but experience will be considered in place of certifications.
