Systems Administration – WEB Admin Focus
Assisting CARFAX’s Web Administration Team with all levels of technical troubleshooting - including identification, resolution, escalation, referral and follow-up with our servers, network and application issues. This includes server configuration/installation of WebLogic 9.x, Win2003/2008, IIS and Active Directory. This position is responsible for providing high quality server support incorporating applications scripting, networking, cabling, facilities service and task to support a 7/24 Internet company. You will be expected to monitor requests received via email, monitor web site, be self directing, and receive systems pages.
Job functions
· Performs troubleshooting, problem solving, tuning, repairs and maintenance of our WEB Site environment.
· Install/Update/Maintain BEA Weblogic Application Server
· Develop any applicable scripts for supporting web servers
· Install/Update/Maintain new and existing Window’s Server’s.
· Provide accurate and creative server solutions for Carfax WEB needs.
· Research, resolve, and respond to questions received via telephone calls, visits and email in a timely manner.
· Acquire and maintain current knowledge of relevant product offerings and support policies in order to provide technically accurate solutions to customers.
· Assist with the ordering of hardware and software.
· Effective oral and written communication skills. Communicates with team, and others in clear, concise, and timely manner.
· Maintain an inventory of hardware, software, dates, warranty and registration information.
· Be available for 7/24 “On-Call” issues and “Off-Hour” installations.
Qualifications
· 3+ years experience installing hardware and software on Windows Servers (Windows2003, IIS6.0 ) a must.
· Experience using BEA Weblogic Application Server or similar application server.
· Bachelor Degree in computer-related field or equivalent.
· Extensive experience trouble shooting hardware and software problems.
· Demonstrate component level analysis and troubleshooting.
· PC Software: Proficient Office, Outlook, Sharepoint, and other Microsoft Products.
· Linux, FTP, Terminal Server, Java, Coldfusion, SQL Administration a plus.
· AD, Wins, DHCP working knowledge and experience required.
· Dedicated and customer serving attitude and solid foundations of IT systems.
· Excellent communications skills.
· Able to manager multiple priorities and projects; both short an long term.
· Able to identify deficient process/procedures, develop and implement solutions.
· Self Starter, highly committed to providing quality customer service in a team environment.
· Knowledge of hard drive configurations from JBOD to SAN, ATA to SCSII.
· Demonstrated ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency and ownership.
Physical Requirements
