Web Content Master

USC’s School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a Web Content Master to join its team.Job Accountabilities: Maintains and modifies the school's or department's web site including content, graphical and multimedia displays and communications. Gathers feedback for web site improvement and enhancement. Tests, maintains and ensures functionality of links. Monitors web site for consistency, cross-referencing and compliance with University standards for web site content and development. Designs and develops and/or maintains a school or department web site(s) and/or web pages. Analyzes, designs and implements technical solutions via the school's or department's web resources. Communicates with faculty and staff to determine and define web site needs and functionality. Reviews and recommends hardware and software needed for web site development. Consults with faculty and staff, such as writers, graphic designers, managers and administrators, to design, develop and implement web pages and interactive information delivery systems. Advises personnel and/or departments on the proper production, technical and design technique specific to web site development. Deals with the school’s Internet site cinema.usc.edu. As such, the Web Content Master will be responsible for ensuring the smooth technical operation of the site, as well as working to facilitate content contributions from members of the student body, staff, faculty and others. Works with USC counterparts to generate mutual solutions to existing system issues, as well as help chart the future direction of the site. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and two years experience in web page design, web site management and web graphic design. Knowledge of hypertext markup language (HTML) programming techniques and protocols. Knowledge of multiple operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Windows NT).Combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and three years experience. Knowledge of university commuting environments. Experience with CGI scripting, Javascript. C. C++. Java, Perl, Visual Basic and on-line services. Knowledge of database and software applications. Excellent technical understanding of coding. In addition to standard HTML skills, the successful applicant will be knowledgeable with PHP, Coldfusion, and CSS programs. Excellent understanding of video, audio and other multimedia production and dissemination techniques.  Will oversee our YouTube and iTunes initiatives and other avenues where we've yet to officially participate, such as Facebook. Excellent social skills and extensive patience with people who are not technically oriented. Requires someone who can go out to all the school's divisions and departments to train their personnel on how to enter materials. Good basic text writing and editing skills.
