This position will be a short term project assisting in a redesign of a highly visible e-commerce site in the casual gaming space with high volume and a customer centric philosophy. Design is already underway and the ideal candidate should be able to step into the process and start generating design ideas and creative iterations quickly. Someone who can work independently with little direction but also in a tight knit creative team is a must. This position will be responsible for both high level look and feel explorations as well as taking premade photoshop files and creating solid cross-browser static pages to hand off to developers. The candidate should be comfortable creating CSS based designs with CSS scripting based features including expanding boxes, pop-over boxes with drop shadows, CSS based mouse-overs, and other CSS based effects. Beyond general information presentation we are concerned with the integration of our service into the lives of our users in a useful and rewarding way. Social networking integration, bridging gaming experience with community, user customized and controlled interface, and less traditional or future minded feature sets are encompassed in our design explorations and interest in these areas is a plus. Our web team is a small and very collaborative group and creative ideas and feature creation is encouraged. Ability to create compelling site and asset design in a Photoshop and Illustrator environment. Ability to make cross-browser CSS sites from Photoshop mockups. A Plus Experience with CSS based interaction effects and DOM scripting Experience with large scale ecommerce site design Interest in user driven features and community/customer centric design Ability to synthesize diverse input (marketing, developers, customer service, usability studies, competitive analysis, advertising) into a cohesive design while maintaining design integrity. Ability to create documentation (specs, overviews, etc.) and help present those to support teams.
