Responsibilities

We are seeking a senior web systems engineer to lead the configuration, setup, and management of the web application infrastructure, portal and websites. Our corporate site (SpectorSoft.com) attracts tens of thousands of visitors a day and application and customer portals support large volumes of data transactions. This individual will be responsible for taking proactive action to manage the growth related infrastructure needs, configuration needs, and anticipate and prepare contingency plans.

Additional responsibilities will be to manage a large MS SQL Server installation as Database Administrator but have database architect skills to help streamline and fine tune SQL Server for performance.

The ideal candidate would be a thorough systems engineer who has had past experiences with SQL Server, management of commercial web sites, and  network administrator skills.

Experience Requirements:2+ years of experience in a position supporting a large, multi-site organization preferably B2C business Windows Server 2000/2003, IIS 6 / 7MS SQL Server 2000/2005 Understanding of LAN, WAN, Internet communication (security and management), load balancing, performance tuning etc. Understanding of network protocols - TCP/IP, SSL, DNS, SMTP etc. Web scripting and shell scripting in Windows environment Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills Strong understanding of Windows security and IIS security Highly motivated self-starter Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects Ability to write simple stored procedures and queries will be a big plus.

This candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. If you have had some experience in development, it would be a big plus in landing this job.
