Website/Technology Operations Manager

Victory Church Products is seeking to fill the position of Website/Technology Operations Manger with an individual who possesses strong information technology skills.  This position will fulfill a dual role by managing the company’s website content while providing technical knowledge, support and assistance in a small office environment.

 

Victory Church Products is a Christian owned and operated company.  We are a growing church and office products catalog and website retailer (www.victorychurchproducts.com).  Established in 2006, we market directly to churches nation-wide across a variety of denominations.  We are the only company to offer both church supplies and office supplies for our customers, making Victory Church Products a “one-stop” shopping experience.  We are located near Asheville, NC in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

WEBSITE RESPONSIBILITIES:



This position will manage the company’s website, and be responsible for the day-to-day, functionality, maintenance and trouble shooting of the company’s website.  You will work with other members of the Victory Church Products team to understand current and upcoming products and to determine site content that both are helpful and interesting to users.  This will include posting written material, photographs, and graphic content (created by the Graphic Design Department) to support the written information on products and services shown on the company web site.  It will also include optimizing the customer search capabilities.

 

The Web Site Manager is responsible for technical aspects of the website, including performance issues such as speed of access, style and composition, functionality and content, while working in conjunction with our third party website host/designer.  You will interact with the website host/developer to make modifications to existing web pages, to improve usability, ensure high performance, and to expand and improve content consistent with the overall design of the web site. You will recommend and implement designs and functions to keep the web site attractive, creative and ranked high on Internet search engines. Knowledge of programming techniques and Internet systems to develop and maintain the company’s site as the leader within our industry is important.

 

You will interact with others to solve operational problems, control costs and reduce implementation time.  Knowledge of user interface concepts and experience with search engine optimization and search marketing is a plus as well as some knowledge of online marketing tools, technology, user practices and industry direction.  Ability to write code in DHTML, Java Script, SQL, Action Script and JSP to update web pages is not required, but would be helpful.  As well, database administration work on Oracle, MS SQL Databases, Transact-SQL programming and Access is helpful.

Proven experience managing business-to-business web sites to successfully integrate key marketing objectives, or web programming management, or similar background required.



INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESPONSIBLITIES:



You will be responsible for the management of the information and communication technology for the company, including network systems, business applications, desktop user support, voice, data, imaging, and office automation technology, data-system-facility technology security, and technology related projects.

 

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems, providing user access to data, keeping the server functional, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications, training users, installing and supporting server applications, anti-virus protection, print support, securing servers and documenting procedures/processes/events.

 

Duties may also include making programming changes as required to adapt or enhance existing or new programs and/or utilities; maintaining supplied software packages for internal users; making recommendations for hardware and software purchases, by analyzing existing hardware/software to determine its functionality, and suggesting new hardware/software based on need or application in the existing or proposed system.  You will also advise management on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs and utilities; serve as a front line interface to users with technical issues; and provide technical assistance for problems encountered during the daily operation of the company.  Responsibility includes oversight and evaluation of the current system security and back up procedures; as well as the disaster recovery plan for the information systems group.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·  5-7 years of website management and information technology experience (combined)

·  Bachelor’s Degree in related field

·  Must be detailed oriented

·  Strong team player

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills

·  Ability to work well with all levels of the organization

·  Direct industry experience in field of church/office products is a plus

·  Must be extremely detail oriented

·  Demonstrated experienced in website design and production applications

·  Demonstrated experience in managing information technology for a small company

·  Ability to perform responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and objectives

·  Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up environment

·  Must be internally motivated and a self-starter; be flexible and receptive to change

·  Must be accomplished at providing detailed project management

·  Demonstrated strong customer focus and customer service skills
