Location: San Rafael, CA 94901 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Expected Duration: 5+ to 7 Years Pay Rate: 60.00 - 75.00 USD /hour Reference Code: 1001000213 Windows Server Administrator sought for a leading San Rafael based Software Manufacturing Corporation for Global Operational Support. In this role you will be responsible for the management Active Directory and domain environments. Responsibilities also include management and day to day administration of key my client’s infrastructure systems that includes: Altiris, VMware virtualization, and Citrix services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal & written communications skills and a thorough understanding of operational practices are required to ensure systems remain secure, consistent and supportable. The candidate will also need to be on-call for support issues and/or problems encountered in the key environments. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and support Active Directory and Windows Server-based environments Plan and execute core service, operating system and major hardware upgrades Work within global server team Provide operational support to key environments including user account management, workflow, log analysis, troubleshooting and service optimization Update knowledge base with problem fixes and system knowledge as directed Maintain/Monitor assigned systems within environment to ensure optimal performance, to determine system upgrade/replacement schedules, and to meet established Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments. Member of cross-functional technical projects that require Windows Server technology as a primary component of the solution Participate in business driven projects as a representative of Windows server team. Represent IT needs, provide subject matter expertise, assist in implementation planning and execute tasks to project plan. Provide timely status updates to Technical project manager. Provide additional support as needed. Create and maintain standards for automated server and workstation builds Gather business requirements and architect, document and implement IT solution that meets established requirements and standards At senior levels, responsible for overall administration and management of key infrastructure services including Altiris and EIdM (includes providing technical direction and best practices) Requirements: 8 years of experience working in IT in an enterprise NT/Win2k environment BS degree or equivalent with Computer Technology emphasis or equivalent experience Microsoft Certification Extensive experience administering XP, 2000, NT 4.0, Active Directory, Exchange 2000/2003, SQL and IIS Proficiency in Internet protocols and standards such as LDAP, SMTP, ESMTP, TCP/IP, POP3, FTP, and NNTP Excellent problem solving and communication skills, along with the ability to work both independently, and as part of a cross-functional team Experience with Directories and Meta-Directories design, deployment and support 1year minimum, experience with, at least, one of the major directory products (iPlanet, Novell eDirectory, IBM Tivoli, Microsoft, etc...)
