Windows System Administrator- Journey-Level

The Windows Support Specialist will be responsible for the design,

installation, configuration and management of Microsoft Windows

servers, supporting approximately 2,000 end-users in a high demand

environment.

The candidate will be responsible for configuring, managing and

maintaining Active Directory infrastructure and various third-party

applications; and planning, monitoring and evaluating the performance

of server systems and make recommendations for improvements/

upgrades. The individual will be responsible for providing escalation

support for unresolved help desk issues and technical consultation to

project managers as well as developing, designing, testing, and

implementing plans and procedures to protect and continue information

technology activities related to network servers in case of emergency

disasters, including database servers, virus protection, and protection

from malicious attacks. The individual will also maintain relationships/

work with vendors/consultants on projects with internal and external

members with little supervision.

Daily Work Schedule Monday - Friday

8:00am - 5:00pm

Required Minimum Qualifications

State requires:

Graduation from a two-year technical college with a major in Computer

Science, Information Technology or related area and one year in the

information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation

from a four-year college or university and one year experience in the

information technology field related to the position's role; or graduation

from a four-year college or university with a major in Computer Science

or Information Technology or related degree. Related information

technology experience may be subsitituted year-for-year for the

required education.

*Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Supervisor requires:

Extensive Active Directory experience, ability to evaluate technologies

and deliver presentations to technical audiences.

The candidate must be a self-starter; able to manage own projects

efficiently for on-time delivery; proactive; and a team player; possess

experience working in a fast paced environment with heavy developer

and support staff interaction and strong interpersonal skills, with the

ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical,

support and business staff at all levels. Strong oral and written

communication skills and experience communicating with technical and

non-technical audiences are required.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate will possess five plus years experience performing

Windows server configuration, security, administration, network/

computer end-user training.

Linux/Unix and moderate experience with Visual Basic, and other

languages a plus.
