Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Steel Warehouse and take a leadership role in the WINTEL infrastructure across our three companies and 15+ locations in North America.  Steel Warehouse is a Steel Service Center headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, and has affiliated companies in tubing and metal fabrication.  With a combination of People, Process, Equipment and Technology, the IT Department has aggressive plans for improvements and deployment of new services in support of a growing business. You will be responsible for the effective operation of our WINTEL Server infrastructure and a key participant in planning future strategies.

 

You must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Wintel Server administration.  The successful candidate should be skilled in current hardware technology, Windows Server 2000/2003 installation, configuration, and administration in a LAN/WAN environment.  The job requires advanced Microsoft infrastructure knowledge (AD, Exchange, file servers, etc.), and a basic knowledge of IIS, SQL, and Citrix.  Must have experience working in a team environment, receiving general instructions but able to work without regular supervision.

 

Responsibilities:

 

-          Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of the Windows AD infrastructure

-          Provide general technology services to clients by staying current with technology

-          Insure that all systems and applications are maintained and updated

-          Manage multiple projects across multiple technical and business disciplines

-          Provide technical thought leadership as a key participant in strategic planning

 

Required:

-          In-depth knowledge and practical experience in the Wintel networking concepts, including LAN/WAN technologies, DHCP, DNS, WINS, and Active Directory

-          Excellent communication and customer service skills

-          Experience supporting more than 50 servers and more than 5 locations

-          3+ years of Windows server administration

-          3+ years experience with Active Directory

-          2+ years experience with Exchange 2003 administration

-          Strong troubleshooting abilities in a WINTEL environment 

-          Ability to install and troubleshoot third-party software
