2 Positions - Enterprise Service Engineer and Enterprise Specialist
ENTERPRISE SPECIALIST
Summary: Work on special information system-type projects with our Enterprise clients. The projects will include working on non-typical installer or support type activities for all of the Company’s products with specific emphasis on enterprise products such as Central Reservation System (CRS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Business Intelligence (BI) and multi-property Property Management System (PMS) deployments. The projects are client requests that come from premier clients which are not covered by an installation services Statement of Work or a Support/Maintenance Agreement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Help with non-typical installation tasks associated with an Enterprise client which may include specialized staging, system preparation, data migration, project assessment, and personnel orientation of special deployment.Provide, test and install solutions for specialized client requests.Interact with and understand the requirements of various departments, including Product Development, Support, etc.Develop and update documentation of the specialized projects performed at client sites. Insure the documentation allows the Company to provide continued support of specialized solutions.Maintain strong product knowledge (PMS, CRS, BI, CRM, Interfaces).Conduct training at client sites and online.
Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Hotel Operations.Minimum five (5) years experience in hotel operations (Property Front or Back Office or Corporate Level).Extensive knowledge of the PMS, CRS, and CRM applications with special emphasis on databases and deployment options.Strong working knowledge of MS Windows Operating Systems and MS SQLWorking knowledge of various product deployment options and the operational impact.Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously.Demonstrate the ability to perform independently on customer and non-customer projects.Working knowledge of PC operations, and Microsoft Office applications.Excellent presentation, communication, written, and interpersonal skills.Working knowledge of server and workstation-class hardware.Experience with WAN, LAN and networking protocols highly desirable.Principles and practices of good customer service.Effective interpersonal communication.Preserve a high level of confidentiality of information encountered as part of work; maintain and administer security systems and methodologies.Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit by generating new, innovative ideas and development of better methods to accomplish tasks and complete projects.Must be able to rent a car when necessary for transportation to project locations.Familiarity with Cognos, and BEA a plus.Ability to travel (50%).
ENTERPRISE SERVICE ENGINEER
Summary: As an Enterprise Service Engineer you will participate in projects and perform tasks such as implementation, installation, configuration, and ongoing support for external customer solutions. Solutions include server and desktop assembly, OS installation/upgrade/tuning, RDBMS installation/upgrade, and custom solution deployment in a variety of tailored platform environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Server and desktop hardware and software installations, upgrades, migrations, and security protection.Microsoft SQL installation, configuration, and tuning.Design, document, and update of system architecture, server builds, configurations, backups, and patches.Coordinate and conduct tasks with departmental staff for system deployment, performance optimization, and system-related technical issues.Monitor system backups, and maintain various system health monitoring tools.Staging and testing of company applications (current and new)Help with non-typical installation tasks associated with an Enterprise client which may include specialized staging, system preparation, data migration, project assessment, and personnel orientation of special deployment.Provide test and install solutions for specialized client requests.Interact with various departments and understand their requirements including Product Development, Support, etc.Develop and update documentation of specialized projects performed at client sites. Insure that the documentation will allow the Company to provide support of specialized solutions.Plan and maintain small project schedules and work requests; monitor, coordinate and report project status and problems; and, research and prepare technical and administrative reports as assigned.Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other employees and clients using principles of good customer service. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Minimum three (3) years experience in system/network installation and configuration. Demonstrate the ability to perform independently on customer and non-customer projects.Working technical knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 server and MS SQL.Working knowledge of PC operations, and Microsoft Office applications.Network knowledge with routers, switches, telecommunications, firewalls, and VPN.Excellent presentation, communication, written, and interpersonal skills.Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.Principles and practices of good customer servicEPreserve a high level of confidentiality of information encountered as part of work; maintain and administer security systems and methodologies.Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit by generating new, innovative ideas and development of better methods to accomplish tasks and complete projects.Must be able to rent a car when necessary for transportation to project locations.
· Hospitality experience a plus
· Microsoft certification (MCSE) a plus.
· Familiarity with Cognos, and BEA a plus
