FULL-TIME POSITION


EMPATH Consulting, Inc. is a leading healthcare consulting firm providing proven methods for hospitals to optimize operational efficiencies, patient satisfaction and revenue. We spearhead broad-scale clinical and operational re-design for hospital Inpatient Areas as well as the Emergency Department and Operating Room.  We also create operational measurement and learning delivery systems, introduce new communication and information technology strategies, and improve patient care processes.


We are seeking a full time or Contractor Access Programmer to become a member of the dashboard team that creates, installs and supports dashboards that utilize Access and SQL Server as their main tools. This person will interact directly with our client so communication skills are essential.  This person will report directly to our VP of Technology Services.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

-Potential creation of functional and or design specs.

-Writing stored procedures

-Using access to produce reports

-Assisting the customer to uncover and enable data flow

-Daily Interaction with customer 



Desired experience/skills:

-10 years experience in IT arena, 5 yrs specifically in Access and SQL server and writing stored procedures

-Strong communication skills

-Experience with large scale projects, preferably in a healthcare setting

-Experience with installation of clinical systems such as the major HIS, as well as exposure to ancillary systems, Laboratory, Radiology, Rx, etc.

-Solid understanding of HL7 and flat files is required

-Ability to manage various project phases

 

Education Requirements:

-BS in Computer Science or Information Services

-Senior level of proficiency in Access and SQL and SQL Server

-Experience with writing Stored Procedures and using Access as a report writing tool.

 

Expect 75% travel during project duration (Mon-Thurs at client site, and Friday from home).  Relocation is NOT required for this position.  Client related expenses are reimbursed, and a per diem is provided.
