Advisory Quality Assurance Software Engineer - Troy, NY Pitney Bowes Software (Group 1 Software/MapInfo), a global software solutions leader and subsidiary of Pitney Bowes, seeks an Advisory Quality Assurance Engineer for our Troy, NY location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and certification of our software products on our Geocoding team. The right candidate will be an integral part of our talented team, contributing to Pitney Bowes Software’s continued growth. Our software, data and services provide our customers with greater competitive advantage and enhanced decision making through our array of offerings in Location Intelligence and integrated Customer Communication Management (CCM) solutions. Our solutions are utilized by many vertical markets; such as utilities, financial services/banking, retail, telecommunications, insurance and public sector. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Feature Planning — Review and provide feedback on feature and product requirements, feature specifications; participate in feature design reviews; ensure feature and product implementation correspond to customer requirements and specifications. Project Participation — Write, maintain, review, and execute test plans; investigate, log, track, and retest incidents; write and maintain test automation that ensures thorough feature and/or product testing; initiate and conduct test plan and code reviews. Project Planning — Create Master Test Plans that ensure a holistic testing perspective and that accounts for all aspects of product quality; use metrics as means of quantifying product quality and assessing project/product risk. Staff Development — Mentor and train staff; participate in candidate review and selection process.Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. 5 or more years of direct experience in software quality assurance, software testing, programming, software development, technical support, or other related experience in a software development capacity. Thorough knowledge of software testing practices including test planning and defect management. Proficiency with a programming language, such as C, C#, VB.NET and Java Preferred Qualifications: Experience with utilizing test automation tools to manage regression testing. Strong working knowledge of Windows and/or UNIX operating systems. Ability to. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail. Experience with server software, web servers, and/or application servers such as WebSphere, WebLogic and Tomcat. Strong communication skills, experience working with remote teams a plus.
