Apple is an Equal Opportunity Employer. www.apple.com/jobs Position Description:The AirPort SQA team within the Communications Technologies Group is seeking motivated QA engineers to perform quality assurance testing for Wi-Fi Access Points.Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:- Test and report hardware, software [including embedded firmware] and Wi-Fi driver bugs in a detailed, timely manner- Provide Engineering team with analysis of uncovered software and embedded firmware defects- Write test cases and test plans around well-defined functional areas, based upon Functional Specification Documents and Firmware / Software Engineering input- Utilize commercially available tools such as wireless packet sniffers and network protocol analyzers to help determine root cause and provide debugging information to engineers- Develop test automation scripts and maintain/expand such systems to offload mundane / routine testing to machinesCandidates are expected to be self motivated members of a fast-paced team; they must work well under time pressure and stress. Candidates must be inventive and focused in their approach to work and solving problems within project deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize time and assigned projects effectively with a minimum of intervention or supervision.Job Requirements:- Four year degree or equivalent- Two or more years of Software or Embedded Systems QA- Proven track record in and knowledge of testing techniques and test plan / test case creation- Working knowledge of Mac OS X- Working knowledge of UN*X-based systems and command-line tools for debugging, analysis and automation- Working knowledge of modern communications technologies- Must posses in-depth knowledge of Wi-Fi [802.11] a/b/g/n including all associated security modes, authentication types and protocols for Access Points and Clients- Exposure to at least one of the following scripting languages: AppleScript, PERL, Tcl, Bash. Candidate must demonstrate ability to write scripts.- Experience and working knowledge of network analysis and debugging tools- Ability to analyze crash logs, backtraces and assist engineers by utilizing basic debugging techniques Perk #56: New ways to stretch your mind.
