The position exists to complete the advanced technical work required to support the needs of the Fiscal Services and Operations Team. The person in this position works independently and as a senior consultant to other technical team members to design, develop and maintain the complex data systems needed for these efforts. The person also functions as a consultant to staff and agency leadership to determine requirements and timelines for systems; research alternatives; develop requirements and designs; and translate these into computer applications and documentation for those applications.
· 100% Information - data capture, processing and delivery; application software, web services, architecture, project management. Responsible for design, development, and implementation of web-enabled systems as well as maintenance, enhancement, and support of existing applications. Also involved with project management, requirements gathering, testing, documentation and training for new systems and for enhancements. Provides assistance and troubleshoots technical application problems for Fiscal Services and Operations team and end users. Assists with integration, data definitions, and queries.

The position exists to complete the advanced technical work required to meet federal reporting requirements, for the collection and integration of student level data, and to ensure the security and integrity of our data. This position is responsible for analysis, design, programming, and maintenance of applications; design and maintenance of data sources; integration of student level data and applications with other Kansas State Department of Education systems; first line support of team members and application users; troubleshooting and resolving application issues; and data inquiries as assigned. Applications and procedures will adhere to standards and security procedures of the team, IT Department, and the agency. The tasks of this position directly support the Agency's ability to track students' needs and performance, regulate education organizations' performance, and allocate state and federal funds.

Also involved with project management, requirements gathering, testing, documentation and training for new systems and for enhancements. 2% Responsible for ensuring Special Education Services applications and systems adhere to Kansas State Department of Education security standards.
Minimum Requirements
Successful completion of 18 hours in computer science coursework or certification and one year experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs or two years experience coding, testing, debugging, and documenting application programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
