Application Services Supervisor (Application Development Manager)

Responsible for supervising, coaching, and leading the efforts of business and technical staff. Work closely with customers and staff to identify solutions to meet business needs. This includes directing the definition, development or acquisition, and implementation of automated systems to support the functional areas.



We are seeking a high energy individual who is self motivated, confident and enjoys leading, coaching and mentoring a business and technical staff, (Developers and Business Analysts). Technical project management experience is required. Prior application programming/development experience is highly preferred. Property and casualty insurance knowledge is a plus.

Requirements:

* Minimum eight years of business experience working in or with an IS organization in system, programming, or project development efforts.

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

* Demonstrated ability to lead, train and motivate individuals to achieve individual, department, and company goals. * Proven ability to plan, organize, and control a diverse workload.

* Proven analytical, decision making, and problem solving abilities.

* Experience estimating project work efforts.

* Skilled in project management practices, techniques, scheduling, resource/budget management, scope control, and change control practices.

* Prior procedural/workflow development experience.

* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

* Excellent listening, negotiating and influencing skills.

* Able to manage group dynamics, facilitate effective team interaction and negotiate effectively.

* Able to gain cooperation and commitment from others and build effective relationships.

* Thorough working knowledge of System Development Methodology.

* PC experience (word processing, spreadsheets, report writers, and database management systems) required.

* Demonstrated dependability in a highly dynamic environment.
