APPLICATION AND DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
FOR A WORLD-RENOWNED MUSEUM!!!
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is seeking an Application and Database Administrator. As a member of the Information Technology department, the Application and Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the stability, security and performance of server environments and our database.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with Project Managers and Business Unit staff to understand business requirements thoroughly.Translate business requirements into functional data requirements.Analyze project functional data requirements, data relationships, and attributes, resulting in data flows, program structures, hardware needs, outputs and other appropriate deliverables for the projectsMaintain the stability, scalability, behavior, security, integrity, and performance of various applications including Raiser’s Edge CRM and Great Plains FinancialsMaintain the stability, scalability, behavior, security, and performance of our MS SQL Server environments, including both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 servers.Responsible for database integrity and backups and for insuring the availability of databases to all users in a 24/7 environmentMaintain a detailed understanding of the company’s various DB SchemaWrite stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and ETL packages to create data transformations for import, export and reporting purposes.Perform the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of various reporting processes related to internal needs using Crystal Reports and other appropriate reporting tools. Build and maintain web-based tools for business intelligence and decision-making.Assist Desktop and Server engineers and end users with deployment, installation, and configuration of softwareDocument applications and perform user trainingMiscellaneous duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Computer Science or at least 10 years of software development experienceAt least 5 years DBA experience on MS SQL ServerExperience developing reporting solutions using Crystal Reports and other toolsBusiness analysis and communications skillsExperience in business analysis, workflow processes, and data gathering techniques.Ability to quickly comprehend user requirements and issues as well as the business rules governing the request.Experience in understanding functional specifications and writing technical specifications.The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with limited oversightDetail-oriented and deadline driven.Experience in estimating project timelines based on functional specificationExperience in managing a complete project life cycleExcellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to build strong relationships with team members.Experience in an Internet and/or Intranet based production and development environment.Experience with Raiser’s Edge and/or Great PlainsExperience in a Unix/Linux and MySql environment a plus
