Essential Functions:Responsible for administrating applications in a UNIX environment. Assists users in resolving application problems from the user’s identification of a problem through service restoration. Participate in all phases of the application life cycle including coordinating upgrades/enhancements to the application and associated software like WebLogic and Apache. Configures new WebLogic domains for projects and provides system guidance to the application owner.  Documents the applications, domains, provides weekly status report and reports time worked on enterprise projects.  Interfaces with application users, System Administrators, programmer/analysts, and other technical support personnel.  This position will have on-call responsibilities.

 

Education/Experience:

BS in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.  Two (2) or more years of related experience installing and supporting applications in a UNIX environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Must be a self starter, motivated, customer driven and willing to work within a global team.  Installing and maintaining applications in a UNIX (Sun Solaris) environment. Strong VI and Shell Scripting skills.Strong understanding of the Solaris 8/9/10 operating systems.  Knowledge of WebLogic Administration, Java programming, Apache, Application monitoring, Oracle Client and Oracle databases is a plus.
