Applications Manager wanted!

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Applications Manager is responsible for leading a team of development staff in the execution of production support, enhancements and projects across a business process (Quoting, Sourcing, etc.).  This role is responsible, organizationally, for the team including career guidance, performance management and overall talent development.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Provide realistic cost, effort and duration estimates for development activities

· Provide team leadership towards the completion of development activities on-schedule, within budget and per quality expectations

· At the team level, meet service level agreements for production support response and resolution

· Own development resource utilization for the team

· Drive adherence to best practice development processes

· Mentor and grow application staff members

 

LATITUDE

 

This position makes recommendations and limited decisions on minor changes which involve the support and maintenance of system functionality.

 

In terms of day to day operations, decisions to make minor software modifications are made by this position along with the business user’s and supervisor’s approval.

 

SUPERVISORY / LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

 

The Applications Manager will typically supervise a team of 6 to 10 developers within IT

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE

 

Expert knowledge of Oracle or Java is mandatory depending on the technical focus of the role.
