Transform your career.Architects are responsible for providing expertise to supply advisory and project delivery services for Business Objects IDD Technologies. All Solution Architects are also responsible to facilitate advice on other Business Objects technologies by leveraging other experts within or working with Business Objects. Solution Architects are responsible mostly for Scoping, Design and Quality Management in Field Services projects, but on occasion may also provide implementation support in Build phase activities. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS * Work is performed predominantly on site (customer offices) and is sometimes performed solo or in conjunction with other team members, customer staff and/or partner staff. * In-country travel may be required from time to time. International travel is not normally required, but opportunities do occasionally present themselves for international travel within Asia-Pacific and other regions. * In addition to providing billable services to clients, consultants also form part of the customer account teams that perform planning and managing of the development and caretaking of customer accounts. WORK EXPERIENCE * Perform in-scope activities to provide deliverables as required in Consulting Letters of Engagement and Statements of Work. Activities take the form of technical specialist, project management, technical specialist and architecture. * Where the customer account team agrees, the consultant may be asked to be the single point of contact for a client with respect to maintaining communications with the client and keeping the client informed of the status of projects, statements of work being drafted or other items to assist with account management. This functional role is known as a Global Services Sponsor for a specific client. * Participate in practice development activities and other internal meetings. TRAVEL 60%EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES * The Ideal Candidate will have solution architecture expertise for Business Objects IDD technologies; can drive project scoping; mentor others; have industry specific experience and 12+ years experience with Business Objects IDD Technologies and 5+ years in providing services to customers in a form such as either customer support, technical support, internal support or ideally via professional services. * In addition you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, which includes timely response to internal and external customers. Proactive and responsive communications are required with the Practice Director and the Field Services Team. Additional communications may be required from time to time with the License Sales Team, the Sales Consulting Team, and the Customer Assurance Team, the Partner Program Team and/or the Partner community. * Background in Data Warehousing concepts and techniques preferred * Up to date Knowledge of Business Objects core products to a high standard * An understanding of ETL processes and preferably at least one tool e.g. Data Integrator, Informatica. * Background in at least one RDBMS system - Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 * Appreciation of Web architecture and concepts advantageous   Title: Architect, Business ObjectsCompany: SAPLocation: Minneapolis, MNStatus: Full Time, EmployeeJob Category: IT/Software Development
