Job Summary:
An Associate Systems Engineer reports to the Director, IS Applications and assists senior IS staff and customers with operational tasks and projects. The areas of responsibility range from specific business analysis on steering committee approved projects to the configuration, customization and implementation of corporate applications and systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Performs day-to-day care and maintenance of the corporate systems and applications, which include responding to user requests, routine maintenance, configuration, focusing on improving the quality and timeliness of business information. Responsible for documenting and addressing stakeholder requirements, including process improvement, system installations and upgrades, while utilizing resources and software efficiently. Assist in completion of complex tasks in the development of functional specifications, development and execution of system test scripts and preparation of related training materials and operating procedures.Systems include ATG.com, Webcare, eRoom, Google Appliance, Employee Portal, Education Sales Portal, Licensing applications, etc.Requirements: Bachelors or graduate degree in a technical fieldDemonstrated knowledge of computer systems designs, computing policies and procedures Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates strong analytical/ problem solving skillsAbility to meet deadlines while providing a complete and accurate work productAbility to be flexible and adaptable while responding to the changing business environment and demandsAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and supervisionKnowledge of Java/J2EE, Web technologies (JSP, CSS, AJAX) preferableFamiliarity with UNIX (Solaris and Linux in particular)Familiarity with Oracle and SQL ServerExperience using ant is a plusIT internship experience is a plus
