Build Engineer

Big Fish Games is a provider of Internet media delivery software and services based in Seattle, Washington. The company is best known for its strong growth and leadership in digital distribution of online casual games. Big Fish Games has several lines of business including distribution of downloadable casual games, ad supported free online web browser games, game development studios, e-greetings, and most recently a social networking site for casual game players for share opinions, invite friends, and earn cash for games their friends buy.

 

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp on software deployment and understand cross platform development. In addition, this individual should also understand the importance of highly maintainable scalable systems and well managed server implementation. This is an engineering role, but will require a solid understanding of systems administration.

 

What you will be doing in the role:Maintain several build servers which compile and test software on a regular basis.Maintain and write automation and internal cgi tools for build server management.Coordinate internal test releases and development environments.Work with a team of engineers to plan and deploy a highly scalable back end server environment.Write technical requirements based on planning for deployment.Design/Implement code deployment tools and processes, as well as potentially assisting in the development of consumer facing software deployment tools.

 

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and expertise:4+ years of industry experienceBS in Computer Science or equivalent experienceExtensive experience with Systems administration (Linux and some Windows)Experience with CGI scripting languages, preferably with PythonExperience in OOP, preferably in JavaEagerness for solving cutting-edge problemsExperience with Linux, distributed systems, network programmingExperience in the game industry desired. A passion for games is a must
