Business Analyst / Product Manager
Position: Associate Product Manager, or Product Manager
The LexisNexis InterAction Product Management Team is responsible for planning and delivering a suite of complex, enterprise-class products to assist professional services firms to market and sell their services. The position of Associate Product Manager, or Product Manager, will determine requirements for individual product releases, and will assist in managing product releases to successful market availability. This position works closely with all areas of the organization including Design and Development, Marketing, Sales, Implementation Services, and Support. Hence, this position calls for an energetic, dynamic, detail-oriented and clear communicating individual who can work well with customers, executives, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Market & Customer Analysis
· Be the customer advocate and expert at understanding the customers’ needs and product requirements
· Develop key customer personas and get the organization to embrace them
· Perform market analysis including market research, customer interviews, sales win-loss analysis, and competitive analysis
· Proactively plan and facilitate Conceptual Design Reviews and/or User Acceptance Testing to gather input from customers regarding a specific product feature or capability
Product Definition and Planning
· Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to help design and drive the product roadmap for both the short and long-term
· Partner with others in the Product Management Team and other key stakeholders to determine release goals and scope definition
· Define, prioritize, and document product requirements at a business process and product functional level
· Collaborate with design team to develop effective user interface form and behavior specifications
· Work closely with the development team to determine appropriate release schedules and ensure proper execution of specified requirements
Product Delivery and Support
· Be internal product evangelist and a sought after product expert
· Actively work to build internal buy-in and acceptance of the product releases and product roadmap
· Coordinate with all departments in the company to ensure successful release of personally owned areas of the whole-product (training and documentation, sales, implementation, and support)
· Assist Marketing by providing foundational elements for effective marketing communications (product positioning, product description, key messages for various target audiences, sales tools, etc.)
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science degree a plus
· 2-5 years of experience in software application business analysis, requirements analysis, or functional specification
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to proactively learn a complex product quickly and become a sought after product expert
· Good organizational skills and proven analytical, methodical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
· Energetic and self-motivated with strong interpersonal, persuasion, and facilitation skills with people of different levels, backgrounds, and personality styles
· Proven ability to manage multiple requests/requirements simultaneously
· Ability and desire to work in a highly demanding, team environment
· Willingness to work extremely hard to meet aggressive market-driven deadlines
· Great attitude and commitment to excellence
· Passion for customer satisfaction and relationship development
· Experience in a professional services organization is a plus
