Location: Fairfax, VAYour location:home » find a job » advanced search » job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend This International company has an immediate opening for a Business Development professional with experience identifying and closing new business opportunities for providing technical services and solutions to the Federal government in order to help grow it's portfolio of information technology services contracts. The Business Development professional will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing capture plans and closing Federal business with Civilian agencies. Candidates should also have experience working as part of a team in conjunction with technical managers, to find, qualify, and close new business opportunities. A strong understanding of Federal procurement process and the ability to leverage existing relationships to sell our service is key to success. Responsibilities: Performs business development and pre-sales lead generation, including networking and research to find business; Responsible for a $2M yearly quota; Meets with potential clients along with the technical delivery team to ascertain customer requirements, share company capabilities and identify opportunities for new business; Develops and maintains working relationships with similar and/or complementary companies to include teaming and partnership discussions; Supports the development of proposals, solutions, plans of action, and business/account growth plans. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree is required; The candidate should also have 5-10 years of related experience in direct sales into the Federal Civilian market, preferably in the government contracting or professional services industry; Subject matter expertise and/or experience with IT and project management solutions and technologies; Ability to help create presentations with guidance from management; Federal Health Agency experience preferred. CMS, NIH, FDA, etc. Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the practices, procedures and processes of Federally-focused sales and business development; as well as the needs of current and potential customers; demonstrated effective communication skills.
