Business Intelligence Discoverer Administrator:  IT Dept. TRANS WORLD ENTERTAINMENT is one of the largest specialty music and video retailers in the United States. The Company currently operates over 800 retail stores in the United States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and operates a retail web site at www.fye.com   You may know us under our brand names of F.Y.E., Suncoast brands, Second Spin, etc.  The company offers a wide selection of entertainment products, including CDs, DVDs, video games, boutique/specialty items and related accessories.  The company’s headquarters, along with its main distribution center, is in Albany, NY with an additional distribution center in Carson, CA. The Business Intelligence Discoverer Administrator will be performing Discoverer administrative activities to support the Oracle Data Warehouse.  These include: EUL creation, Business Area creation, implementing security procedures within Discoverer, Oracle Portal dashboard development, report development within Discoverer, testing, documentation and implementation of reports, security, and dashboards. Responsibilities include: Development of reports and integration of those reports to dashboardsCorporate Dashboard development and administrationProduction trouble shooting, report and dashboard debugging and testing, post-Implementation review of new/changed reports and dashboards User supportDevelopment of new “Business Area” in Discoverer as identified by the businessAssist in evaluation of new and emerging report technologies from Data Warehouse environments and Dashboards for proposed procurement by Trans World.  This should include analysis of new vs. existing technology to determine integration compatibility, implantation feasibility and timing. Qualifications include:Minimum of a 2 yr Computer Science or Information Systems degree or Technical School Equivalent.  At least 2 + yrs SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Discoverer & Portal Administration, retail report development & design in Discoverer OR Cognos/Microstrategy environments. Candidates must have the ability to organize, document, plan and manage multiple facets of projects.  Clear, concise communication skills and writing abilities required.  EOEWomen/minorities encouraged to apply.  Compensation Trans World Entertainment has emerged as the strongest specialty entertainment retailer in the country.
