Business Planning Leader

Location: US-NY-Long Island Requisition ID:  REQ59760957 (Post ID:71181933) Job Level:  Experienced (Non-Manager)Nortel is looking for an experienced business planning leader with expertise in communications Applications (Contact Center, IVR, and/or Unified Communications) to drive product strategies for the Multimedia Applications portfolio. You will leverage your strong customer and market knowledge, business acumen, and technical background to help drive market penetration and success of Nortel's industry-leading Multimedia Applications portfolio.The Business Planning Leader has gobal accountability for product planning, roadmap and vision.   Responsibilities Include:  - Leading a team of Business Planning Managers  - Set product direction based on needs of customers and partners  - Build and manage business cases that drive the introduction of new products  - Defining the key product content and business drivers  - Collaborating with Customers, Partners, Sales and internal Nortel groups to document product requirements  - Define product pricing strategy  -  Identify and define Vertical solutions that can leverage our product portfolio  -  Identify opportunities for external partnerships to enhance our solution offering  - Communicate product roadmap and vision to Customers, Partners and Nortel groups.  - Deliver on profitable product and portfolio P&L Qualifications:- University degree in business, computer science, or engineering, MBA highly desired- 5+ years of managing successful products in the Telecommunications industry - Proven track record in managing successful product lines- Knowledge of Contact Center, IVR, and/or Unified Communications (Unified Messaging or Conferencing) portfolios - Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Experience in effectively managing in a matrixed environment- Ability to translate requirements to meet market, channel, and customer needs- Strong marketing and presentation skills highly desired Additional Skills:- Voice, application, and/or data networking background- Product marketing, sales, and/or channel marketing highly desirable- Negotiation skills Personal Attributes:- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed team environment- Strong work ethic with a high-level of professionalism and integrity- Strong personal accountability and integrity- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsTravel Required:  Moderate travel Position Type:  Full Time, Employee Relocation assistance:  None,  Homebase Eligible:  NO Shift:  Day/First Shift Business Unit:  ESPN
