§ Previous experience with a Consulting or Professional Services organisation.

§ Proven Client delivery experience, ideally in Software / Product implementation

§ Strong Project management skills.

§ Knowledge of Project Management methodologies

 

 Overview of Role

The US Business Practice Manager role will be part of a Business Practice group within the Professional Services team.  The Business Practice group at Norkom is responsible for the following areas:

§ Project Delivery Methodology

§ Risk Management processes

§ Interfaces to other Business areas within Norkom including Engineering, Product Management and Sales.

§ Induction and training needs analysis

§ Capturing Project learnings

§ Management of the Project office

§ Development of strong Project Management disciplines

 

This individual should be a self-starter and keen observer to actively identify gaps, efficiencies, trends and emerging issues across multiple areas of Program and project delivery. He / she will be a good communicator with the ability to build successful links to the Professional Services team, Engineering, Product Management and Sales teams. 

 

He / she will mostly likely come from a Project Management or Delivery Management background and will understand first-hand the challenges associated with project management in a dynamic fast-growing product organisation.

 

 Core Responsibilities

Methodology Champion

§ Ensuring adherence of the Professional Services group (which is organised regionally), to the company Methodology governing Project Management and Implementation.

§ Working with local Project Managers to ensure an understanding of methods and practices

§ Leveraging work in the field to improve our library of templates, guidance notes and best practice examples.

 

Risk Management processes

§ Ensuring our risk management practices are effective and are being adhered to locally.

§ Provide mentoring support to Project teams to enable them to manage risk.

§ Conducting Project reviews at key stages with Program / Project managers

§ Seeking out ways to improve risk management processes based on local needs.

 

Services Team Training & development

§ Regularly reviewing the process by which we train and get new members of the Professional services productive.

§ Supporting the local Regional Manager in group development areas such as the roll out of a Programme Management structure

 

Interfaces within Norkom

§ Ensuring operational interfaces to others groups in Norkom are effective. Development of Service Level Agreements with internal groups, where appropriate.

 

Project learnings

§ Ensuring processes to capture Project learnings at key stages during the lifecycle are working.
