COMM (ROC) - Programmer Analyst - OLAP COMM (ROC) - Programmer Analyst - OLAP Position Description: The Programmer/Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of system use cases (UC) and other specifications to implement a Financial Metrics data warehouse. Knowledge of Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools and DB2 is essential to success in this position. Experience with shell scripting and the IBM AIX environment is preferred. Essential Skills Required:• A minimum of three years experience in developing complex reports using an online analytical processing tool (e.g. Cognos or Actuate).• A minimum of two years experience in designing the semantic layer between the database and OLAP reporting tool.• A minimum of three years experience in using Structured Query Language (SQL). • A minimum of one year experience in using the DB2 relational database platform on Unix or Windows• Proven experience in analyzing and decomposing existing application systems.• Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.• Strong troubleshooting/debugging skills.• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Proven experience in writing design specificationsNote: Must have a minimum of 5 years total experience. Nonessential Skills Desired: While not mandatory, the following are desirable: • Familiarity with Unix-based servers• Familiarity with shell scripting (Bourne, Korn)• Experience with IBM AIX• Experience writing Stored Procedures for IBM DB2 (Unix or Windows version)• Familiarity with DB2 database administration utilities• Successfully completed at least one engagement within the last five years dealing with financial instruments and securities having comparable requirements to this project.
