Job Description:

 

Work onsite as a Mentor Graphics Consulting resource at a “Big 3” auto company to assist with the incorporation of the next generation Mentor Graphics wire harness design products (CHS) into the design and development process. The CHS tools are replacing the current Mentor Graphics TransDesign products in the customer’s wire harness design process. The consultant will be responsible for in-person, in-depth,
“hot-seat” product support and issue resolution as the design process is defined and then used on initial automotive design projects. Tasks can include answering tool usage questions, exploring and explaining best practice design methodologies regarding the CHS tools, and acting as a customer advocate to the Mentor Graphics product development group when core software issues are discovered in the products.

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

 

- BSEE or MSEE
- Cable harness design experience using appropriate design and analysis tools (see below) or experience supporting the usage of cable harness design tools in a CAE environment
- Understanding of automotive design processes a plus
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a cross-discipline team that includes both Mentor Graphics and customer resources
- Ability to work under pressure in a customer environment while maintaining composure and representing Mentor Graphics favorably
- Ability to work on multiple ?high priority? issues at one time while keeping the customer and other team members well informed
- Self motivated - Work will little direction
- Experience with related Design and Analysis Tools (Mentor Graphics Capital Harness, Capital Logic. LCable, TransDesign, TransCable or other competitive tools)

Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CATIA and Team Center
- Experience with Java programming and application customization
