Job Description: 
Customer Facing Technical Project Manager

Responsible for managing resource schedules and delivering against global deployment, configuration and training schedules for Telecommunications Service Provider products.  Requires thoroughly understanding the makeup of a Sale/Project.  Product customization and functionality enhancements are often involved requiring coordination of internal development schedules with customer commitments and other schedule influences.  Coordination of all action items for internal project resources as well as follow-up and tracking of external action items and dependencies, communicating status with the customer, adjusting expectations, and ensuring what was purchased/promised is delivered.  Will have multiple simultaneous projects to manage. Assist Sales by identifying new business opportunities or changes of scope during the project.
Responsibilities:

Provide project management and team leadership for various software development and implementation initiatives. Participate in technical requirements gathering/refinement/review, incl JAD sessions. Insure project dependencies are being fulfilled on schedule. Ability to be reactive but strong focus on pro-active management of issues and makes recommendations for resolution. Provide technical leadership for project, including researching best practices, selecting and recommending appropriate methodology and technological application for project use. Provide customer consulting support to help define solution requirements and supporting business processes. Coordinate the implementation of design specifications, feasibility, cost and time required, product and system capabilities. Perform User Acceptance Tests, Trials and Proofs of Concept. Effectively manage budget and all resources to balance both short term and long term needs Develop project plan and schedule. Communicate project objectives, schedules, and progress. Revise project timelines and adjust customer expectations. Analyze and report impact of work changes or missed critical path dependencies to project schedule and budget. Responsible for daily client interaction and sets and maintains client expectations. Ability to handle multiple projects effectively. Implement, maintain and enhance quality procedures and systems. Maintain & contribute content to Web-based internal documentation (Intranet). Provide training and product/technology demonstrations to staff as needed. Up to 25% Domestic & International Travel - Passport required. 
Required Skills: 

Minimum 2-5 years of project management experience in software development setting. Packaged and customized software experience. Highly Effective Communications both Oral & Written. Professional attitude & appearance with strong motivational & persuasive disposition Strong project management experience with demonstrable successes. Telecommunications Industry Experience (LEC, RBOC, ICO, Cable) with emphasis in provisioning & integration - (Voice Mail, Class5, TDM networks, VoIP).  Strong technical documentation and auditing skills, with ability to work with complex details. Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Solaris UNIX environments, SQL, Java, Flex, Networking, Telephony & Centrex. Self-directed, self-motivated and hands on, with strong communications, organizational, interpersonal, motivational, presentation and computer skills.  Experience in providing end-user technical support on technology products, preferably in Telecommunications Service Provider settings. Bachelor's degree in related field or comparable industry experience. 
Desired Skills:


 Experienced in Web-based applications, Provisioning, CRM & OSS & Self-Managed Svcs. Experience with Nortel/Lucent/Siemens Gear particularly helpful. Familiarity with TQM/CMMI/SDLC/RUP methodologies. Experience with Relational databases SQL & TOAD.  Proven track record of managing large scale software projects. Proven success in implementing SDLC compliance standards and documenting MOPs.
