Intermountain is recognized as a leading healthcare system and a model for what is right in American medicine.The Clinical Modeling Engineer will fill a critical role in the joint Intermountain Healthcare/GE Healthcare effort to enhance the GE Centricity Enterprise product and deploy it throughout Intermountain Healthcare.  The incumbent will be a member of the modeling team, which collaborates with application teams, systems engineers, and clinical analysts and develops models for the healthcare data that needs to be stored in the system.  The Clinical Modeling Engineer will serve as a team expert in clinical models used in clinical information systems. Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience in a combination of clinical and software development environments, or in a development environment that focused on healthcare software Familiarity with the healthcare environment (administrative and clinical) Experience in and aptitude for abstracting healthcare knowledge into computable models (UML, XML, HL7, etc.) Familiarity with healthcare modeling efforts and terminologies (HL7 v3, OpenEHR, SNOMED, etc.) Ability to work well with others, synthesizing and harmonizing diverse viewpoints Proven ability to easily learn new technologies and healthcare subject matter Facility with business desktop applications Preferred Skills and Training:Clinical degree Training in Informatics Familiarity with UML and Object Oriented Design Familiarity with XML Familiarity with OWL/RDF Familiarity with SQL and relational databases Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies Strong technical writing skills Project Management skills
