Cognos Consultants - Senior Level, BI/DW, Direct-Hire

Our BI group is expanding!  Due to our continued growth, we have multiple Senior level Consulting opportunities available immediately for Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse professionals with Cognos tool expertise.  If you are a talented BI/DW Consultant with solid experience developing complex Report Studio reports & Framework Manager models, we’d like to hear from you. 

 

Position:  Senior Cognos BI Consultant

These are full-time, salaried positions with company benefits, they are not contract positions.  

Relocation is not required.

Job Summary...

In this role you will deliver high quality consulting and hands-on design and development services in the full range of Cognos enterprise-wide Business Intelligence tools, including Cognos 8 (All Studios), Framework Manager, Data Manager, Cognos Metrics Manager and Cognos ReportNet and Series 7 technologies. In addition, the Consultant may provide sales support and onsite knowledge transfer.

 Perform installation and configuration of Cognos software on customer hardware (both Windows and Unix) Perform analysis of reporting requirements Design and develop Business Intelligence reporting solutions   Review complex modeling situations and implement solutions using Framework Manager Perform startup services for new customers including prototypes and pilot project programs Advise customers on best practices for BI deployments Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of the entire Cognos product line Actively seek additional services revenue across the client organization Develop close relationships with executives and managers in client's IT and business departments Provide knowledge-transfer services to customers



Required Skills/Experience...
 Minimum five years Business Intelligence experience Minimum three years experience with Cognos tools  Minimum one year experience with Cognos 8 Demonstrated expertise in complex modeling using Cognos Framework Manager Demonstrated expertise in complex report development using Cognos Report Studio,  including conditional and dynamic formatting, cascading prompts, style sheets, drill down and drill through Demonstrated expertise in designing and configuring Cognos Connection security Demonstrated grasp of entire Cognos BI product line Successful Cognos BI toolset installation experience Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts Proven ability to effectively interface with clients at all levels of the organization Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Proven ability to work independently or on a team as required Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks as well as changing priorities Related college degree or equivalent experience

 Other Requirements...

 Must be currently eligible to work in the United States Willing to travel as needed, generally in the Northeastern U.S.



LPA Systems serves clients throughout the U.S., with most of our clients located in the Northeast.  As a Senior Cognos BI Consultant you will be in a client facing role that generally requires regional and sometimes national travel.  The exact amount of travel depends on where you live and the specific engagements available at any given time.

 



Additional Skills Desired...

The following are NOT required, but will be considered a plus:

 Experience in Web/Internet technology and UNIX Security Clearance  Cognos ETL experience, (Data Manager and/or Decision Stream)
